This first month in DC has been a wonderful experience. I have had an amazing time at my internship and I am so grateful to have this opportunity.
Being in a congressional office has given me a new view of America's lawmaking process. I have gotten to attend quite a few briefings and a couple hearings so far. The most interesting one I have gone to was a briefing on the repeal of the Department of Defense policy of banning women from combat troops and how successful the process has been. I will also be getting to lead constituents on tours of the Capitol soon. I think that this is a great way to get to know a lot of the history and information about the Capitol.
The picture is my view on the way to work. It is so amazing to look at this building everyday.
